Everyone talks about the cognitive shift in Astronauts looking back on Earth. It’s called The Overview Effect. This also exists closer to home. Travellers, like myself, have experienced our own overview effects for a myriad of reasons. Perhaps I should write a blog about it.

I think a lot to do with the overview effect is the actual experience as well. It takes hundreds of thousands of people to get you up there to see the blue marble. Its mkre@than reflection. I don’t think pointing a camera for people to watch Earth will do much. Experience helps.

I’ll explain more in a write up.

@NatGeo &@onestrangerock did something very close to this with an immersive VR camera on the International Space Station@ISS_Research. You can see the result on, e.g.,@oculus Go. Also,@NASA and@UrtheCast have had HD video cameras on the ISS for years.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
