This is David Berger, he was 19 years old when he was murdered by the Nazis in Vilnius in 1941. In a last letter to his girlfriend he said: ‘I would want there to be somebody who would remember that someone named D. Berger had once lived.’ We remember you, David.

It’s important to say that othering Jews who don’t ‘look’ Jewish is wrong. We must make our community more inclusive. At the same time we cannot erase ethnic Jewishness. We can be more inclusive & empower Jews whose bodies are shamed by antisemitism. That is .

There are genetic links between Jewish groups & therefore there are traits which are common to ethnic Jews. I used to hate my nose & was told it was too ‘Jewish’. Now, I feel so proud of having traits common to Jews & I reject antisemitic perceptions of Jewish bodies.

It’s amazing that young Jews are coming forward to talk about their experiences of progressive & left antisemitism & they are given a space to talk. When I was at uni I experienced antisemitism everyday & when I would discuss it, I was ignored. It’s sadly not a new phenomenon.

Tonight I lit the third yartzheit light for my father. Even though I am not particularly religious, these practices give me strength. I am so thankful to be Jewish. I have been given ways to process my grief & I have community of wonderful people to support me. Thank you.

My father brought me up to be a proud Jew & he fully accepted me when I came out. It causes me great pain that he never managed to meet my partner, but he did know we were together. I’m the man I am because of him. My father’s name was Malcolm Freeman & I miss him very much.

Today marks the third anniversary of my father’s passing & his third yarzheit. He had been sick for two & a half years. In the last six months of his life, I gave up my Holocaust education work & cared for him full time. He passed away one week after my 30th birthday.

You only have to examine how most societies treated Jews during the Holocaust, and once it ended, to understand the depth and intensity of antisemitism in Western & Middle Eastern cultures.

No Dai Yuming, banning travel from China because of the Corona Virus is in no way like the rejection of Jewish refugees & the Holocaust. Once again the non-Jewish world uses Jews to define their own perceived victimhood.

The Shoah included the period of the most hyper-intense killing of any genocide in the C20th. During Operation Reinhard in Spring 1942, 'Belzec, Sobibor and Treblinka became...the murder site of almost half of Polish Jewry'. 1.47 million Jews were murdered in just 100 days.

I am a Zionist. I believe in self determination for Jews in their indigenous home. I believe that antizionism is a form of antisemitism. After 2000 years of genocidal antisemitism I will not apologise for believing in a Jewish state. I have too much to do that.

This is a great thread but this tweet stands out. ‘...no other group in the world receives this kind of treatment.’ We have to recognise that the world treats Palestinians differently to any other group, be it the Taiwanese, Tibetans, Cypriots, Crimeans, Israelis etc.

China has occupied Tibet since 1951. An estimated 1 million Tibetans died during China’s Great Leap Forward. 6000 Tibetan Monasteries were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Tibet is still occupied today. But the left obsesses only about Israel...

Genuine questions: Shouldn’t the PA at least think about accepting this plan? Do they realistically think they will get a better deal? Is it better for Palestinian citizens to continue in the status quo than for this deal to be accepted?

In 2012 - when I was 25 - I travelled to Eastern Europe to shoot a short documentary on the Holocaust. I met survivors & visited sites of mass murder. I screened this film at schools in the UK, US, Hong Kong for teach students the lessons of the Shoah.
