Derek Bell never seemed like the kind of guy who'd take a joke very well. Lol. I recall a time when he was injured while playing for the Astros, & he ended up in the ER. He'd been hurt early in the game, & the Astros game was still on TV, but he was watching football

I chuckled, & said something like, "don't you wanna know how the 'Stros are doing?" With no hint of humor whatsoever, he replied that he didn't want to watch that shit. Paraphrasing - can't remember his exact words. Lol
