WoD started out really strong and introduced some good ideas into the game, but ultimately became repetitive and boring the more end game you played.

AGREED. The comparison is on a faulty premise, because they paid no love to content updates beyond the few patches. If WoD had the exact same update schedule that Legion had.... *starts to wonder*

WoD had an amazing opening and leveling story. It definitely started to drop after hitting the level cap. I wonder how much that would have changed if we had gotten the raids that were originally planned.
