New changes by YT are smart - no-one will loose more than a McDonalds in money and it likely cuts down their workload significantly, allowing for better service elsewhere.... IN THEORY. Not holding my breath.
With an av. watch time of 2 mins that equates to 120k views. 120k views of a short video... I mean it could be 200 bucks? So if someone wants to do YT full time, that's small in the scheme of things

In terms of being stacked against new, that can be true with things like demonetization. But if you are doing a niche that is ad friendly and implement best practices + have a quality product, then it still can work vvv well

From back when I was small, the small youtuber community seemed full of excuses and passing the blame. I started to well when I tore myself to pieces and tried to make better quality stuff. So I'm often think that the excuses are overstated
