So I think the only way they'll get out of this hole is to really change up some of their non instance based core gameplay loops.

I think there are bigger issues here. Zones are so micro managed they offer nothing in terms of exploration and discovery as well.

Comes down to there being this massive section of players who aren't going to hang around for raids / dungeons past seeing them a few times
