Wild that in this hypothetical it'd have so little to do with intent.

Yeah, Twitch can be overzealous with bans and moderation because of (I assume) trying to preserve advertising revenue. It's caused a lot of sanitation of the website to the point where many of the older users feel alienated
-
There's always the controversy following a ban of people comparing other streamers which always leads to "X streamer wasn't banned although Y streamer can do this". The comparison can have merit but often ends up breeding even more conflict.

Would be nice if Twitch differentiated those following their strict ruling and still-decent people who do not Partners vs unaffiliated users with their bank account linked. Maybe a lesser share of subs, etc because they do not conform to the platform's ideals
-
...But then Twitch might be financially inclined to retain users that do not do what they want A bit of a nebulous line to draw, but it would be nice for such a powerful platform to be accessible to more types of people

Youtube isnt much different in regards of terrible, inconsistent and shady moderation overall. Be it others claiming videos/vods and you don't get money or questionable bans/strikes without explanation. Twitch is quicker with the ban hammer but youtube is in no way better imo.

People are understandably upset about Twitch. They aren't attracting enough viewers for their streamers, biffed DMCA versus YouTube Content ID, decided to make their rules even stricter rather than solve tech problems on the platform, and other assorted nonsense.
