Do you think a Riot MMO will draw in more players than what FFXIV currently offers? Do you think it'll be sub based and succeed in the current market? Do you think it'll be another hotkey MMO?

Considering every game they already offer, all f2p, it might be free, with a lot of cosmetic cash shop

Plus they have infrastructure, they know how to handle millions of players, and they've got a lot of experience tuning their product in response to feedback from a large playerbase

Things like this makes Riot more attractable for MMO developers I'm sure. Exited to hear more news though!pic.twitter.com/84ayRHAgfQ

He didn't mention RPG though, It could very likely be a different take on an MMO?

But Blizzard have the backstory and lore associated with the game. To be honest you can have the best graphics, design and systems but without that story it will get stale pretty quick. Blizz have had the advantage of building on a universe built decades ago

People care about the actors in the game, they know their stories from the golden age of gaming. The one thing that will ensure WoW is unlikely to be beaten is nostalgia. New games don't have that.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the current blizz staff jump over to Riot.
