That'll absolutely happen to a degree. Will the number of people willing to engage in farming (time-consuming, not exciting - def. 'virtual work') will make up for the loss in multi-boxing derived farming 'man hours' lost. We're essentially reducing automation to increase jobs.https://twitter.com/Valrysha/status/1323946730505834497 …

I'm pro not doing anything that harms the experience of legitimate players like multiboxers over a vocal hate group. All blizzard has done is make it so that input broadcasting software could result in automated ban. You don't need that to fly 10 druids around and pick herbs.

But you do need that (or hardware that does something similar) to legitimately play more than one toon at once for fun and the challenge of doing things yourself that would normally take more than one person.

Fishbotting definitely is prevalent AF, other types of botting not so much as it's easier to detect.

Botting is extremely prevalent according to the wowecon sub. You no longer need to buy the game to farm BfA or older content, and 1 day of botting gives enough money for a month sub. Ban waves are too slow, so anything beyond that first day is pretty much free income.

From the response on the reddit post, seems to be pretty positive, but it's also definately reached a wider audience than the usual in woweconomy, but a lot of people seem to be pretty happy.

The woweconomy sub is probably mostly happy about this, since they're already those people who will put the time in, farm the mats, and are will now be rid of some unfair competition. It's the other players, the broke ones, who will suffer from it imo. Less offer, higher prices?

Just in my personal experience, which doesn’t amount to much, I haven’t seen nearly as many multi boxers in the last couple years compared to expansions previously. Anyone else?

I am not sure if it pans out technically, but I have heard speculation that part of the reason for this might be to make it easier to ban bots, as they will no longer have to differentiate between them and the botlike behavior of multiboxers.
