Anyway, to cap off this afternoons lore tweets, we’re seeing an unprecedented level of lore recontextualisation & changes. Will it be worth it? Can’t answer that yes. Will we, the messenger, be shot? Almost certainly! I do wish they could have worked around the old lore...

Eg, it seems that much of the chronicle 3 scourge lore is just incorrect now. We now know the Jailor was a presence in the helm of domination. Chronicle 3 has no idea about that & much of its Arthas content just doesn’t make that much sense with what happens since Shadowlands

Being fast an lose with Warcraft 3 I can understand... but something published in 2018? That’s a bit wild to me. I get that blizzard in 2019 said chronicle is just a Titan point of view on things, but cmon, it’s saying stuff about the lich king that’s since been retconned.

You gotta break some eggs, if you want to make an omelette. It was time to venture in more unknown territory while still keeping wow familiar.

The point of Chronicles was (originally) to fully get the lore down on paper and have THAT be the absolute truth. But every time they put out a Chronicle, they'd retcon things in it VERY quickly. Chronicles 3 came out a little over 2 years ago.
