I’ve got 445s equipped one both slots so o can trade the next one, but it’s so silly this system prevents me from helping the team

Hard agree on this. Not sure why it was even a decision.

Because some guilds kick you out if you don't trade the 20 ilvl upgrade to the GM's buddy for whom it's only a 5 ilvl upgrade. If it's possible to trade, then there are enough abusive assholes that make it MANDATORY to trade to cause a worse detriment to the game.

I don’t think personal loot is the problem, not being able to choose to pass it over is the issue

^ This. The solution already exists, but is restricted by your gear. It should be as simple as allowing people to trade items within your group within that allotted time (I don't remember the time gap it usually gives) that is given.

Makes the content “last longer” by making people keep running it, so they won’t remove it

They have it in place where if your drop is a higher ilvl than what you have, you can't trade it.

Yes and that system is complete garbage for raiders. If something is a 30% dps boost for a guild mate I’m trading it if it’s a 2% boost for me. I should be able to trade the loot I get if I want even if it’s a ilvl increase for me.

Or at least restrict raid loot to teams formed by the same guild group
-
The old loot rules was 75% and you could use master looter. The good guilds used it it was the perceived way people could abuse the system that forced this change.
