Yup i agree there and i have seen comments defending and i still think....yeah he broke the rules but the punishment seemed way over the top for the crime

Only if blizzards stance is active participation, support and participation in the actions, ideals and stance off the Chinese communist party. In that case, Blizzard just needs to die as a company.

I know, I watched it, but I think if they had to do it all over again they would do the same thing. If they let this go and the next interview the winner said,"Support traditional marriage." people would call for the person to be immediately banned, then where would they be?

Different messages which project different images. Punishing someone who wants freedom and someone who, say, opposes abortion are two different things and are perceived very differently by the public. And defending professionalism can only go so far as an excuse.

Like taking a knee in football, he knew what would come from it but it's about saying a message.

It shows the commitment he, and the other protesters, have, to put themselves in harm's way/taking on personal burdens and responsibilities or passing on opportunity that'd personally benefit them, in favour of standing up for themselves and their home. It's hugely inspiring.

No he didnt. Or maybe he did. But if he did then blizzard is pure evil as a company.

Why is this causing such a problem in the gaming community? There are a few other serious issues that have been going on for a while that’s getting 0 attention. Venezuela, Syria, abortion rights, etc. I guess it didn’t personally affect those speaking out so they don’t care

You are partially right, it is very hard to mobilise people when it doesn't involve something they are personally invested in. I've been speaking about the Hong Kong protests to my friends/"audience" since the beginning and this event has absolutely made many more of them listen.

With how much esports has grown, gaming corporations are pulling the common workforce card of writing every single possible thing into their rules® so they can punish you for literally anything. The fact that it's against the "rules" doesn't mean anything honestly
