Yeah. Even economically, a good PUE is good business. It's odd that they're being alarmist about the impact of game streaming on energy consumption, like with Stadia, but also mention that Google is very efficient. Over on MS's side, their new datacenters are 1.1.

So it seems like he's identified a problem, arm waved a bit without specifics on what could be bad, but hasn't mentioned what the industry is doing in that regard? Surely a stronger point would be that even with a utility PUE, grid efficiency & power gen is the problem

The article conclusion seems more about getting audiences to think about all of the future sustainability/labour/costs in tandem. So there is a section about how the big companies are working on these green issues, but that its not seen as a consumer issue to talk about.
