I wonder how much of this will be solved in time. Like, if 80% of cars are EVs in 20 years, then the EV cells (once down to around 60% capacity) can be reused for another 10 years for energy storage. I imagine stuff like that would impact the viability of greening up a lot.

This was basically my main criticism of the article. It's broadly on the right track but it's not quite reaching a conclusion on most of the points. So for example, here, there's a need for a change to a sustainable system that prioritises Green Dev over immediate profit.

Yeah. Even economically, a good PUE is good business. It's odd that they're being alarmist about the impact of game streaming on energy consumption, like with Stadia, but also mention that Google is very efficient. Over on MS's side, their new datacenters are 1.1.
