Do you think sharding has worked out well for World of Warcraft? IMO: - Seeing more players around is good - It seems to have massively limited world content (as your servers world doesn’t matter when you can just hop to another one).
I should have been more precise - cross realm also. But yeah, it’s a very interesting problem for them to deal with. Each server being it’s own world is such a strong fantasy, but there are problems with that also.

There are always a lot of people who want the game to go back to what it used to be, w/o understanding that that would rip out most of the systems that make later xpacs pssble. I look forward to seeing if Classic draws out a lot of players from live so WoW can evolve drastically
