That Reddit thread is bullshit. Not only is @BellularGaming the most talented wow creator going, he also does awesome and generous work for the community behind the scenes too. I know that we can call him any time and he'll help us out.

It is impossible not to admire the amount of work and dedication he puts into his videos. I suspect most of these angry people don't watch them. Still, as he says it himself, the titles & thumbs are pretty outrageously clickbaity... I think it's fair to be bothered by that.

I for one do find that it frustrating when browsing YouTube (especially since I follow both channels; double the Bell!!). I guess I wish it wasn't necessary... But my income doesn't rest on people clicking vids, so it's easy for me to get on my high horse (with inflatable shoes)!

Yeah, as a viewer, that’s exactly how I feel. It could be that I started off where you are with digital media - Frogpants, WoWRadio & most of what Tom Merrit did was what I did instead of YouTube back when I was a teen. 14 onwards

Algorithm is an interesting beast. That marketing is a 50-100% boost for my Waccraft channel, but can be a 300%+ boost on the news one. I think doing the game company and having YT staff is what brings growth pressure. Best I can do is be honest with the non algorithmic viewers

I think that for some of your non-algorythmic viewers the danger is always that it can come off as insincere. The reasons why you bust out so many vids when you do is obvious and understandable, but I guess there's the risk it can also appear cynical.

Yeah, that’s the push / pull of it. I think as long as they’re aware of where the money goes and what it does for them, then it’s fine. Again, LinusTechTips being a good example of that relationship working out well

Although that said, for them it means 7-12 videos of free entertainment a week, so I think most are it as being a net gain

Yeah totes. You've always been pretty open, enthusiastic and proud about your grip of the business side of your channel, and that's always going to mean some people see your video choices as being made from a business perspective as much as a creative one sometimes.

Although for me, it’s the difference between doing what I enjoy and enjoying what I do.

I don’t really need a video to be the most persoanlly satisfying topic in the world as I enjoy the process of doing, almost more so than actually having a final product
