Very much disagree, but I think it’s an interesting topic, especially as it applies to different genres. Intersection between accessibility & vision of the artist is fascinating, especially with Sekiro.https://twitter.com/Kotaku/status/1113209819488559105 …

i think people just need to accept some things aren't made for them, and that is ok.

Games can't be made for everyone, with everyone in-mind. There are just certain types of games that don't function well with different difficulties. It's easy to think of for any of souls games and Sekiro; At that point it just becomes on the level of using cheat engine.

What does easy mode mean by now? infinite fault tolerance or acess every aspect or low depth of mechanics?

I mean, I have legit trouble understanding the logic of how easy modes affect anyone other than the user taking advantage of them. However, From is never going to do it, they just aren't. So I dunno why folk get up in arms with every release.

Okay but how does an optional mode you don't even have to worry about if you can play the main mode affect your enjoyment

Sekiro is a great example of players feeling entitled that every game should be designed for them - when in reality, Sekiro is designed for a specific audience that intentionally has a skill threshold. (It's okay to design games for a specific audience. Quality > Quantity.)

I don’t think most people realize how much work goes into balancing a game to craft an experience. Diverting time to support multiple difficulties runs the risk of hurting the experience for all difficulties because development resources are finite in the face of deadlines

You disagree with story mode difficulties? Out of curiosity, why is that?
