Isnt the word "more" the key here? They were already political, now they are getting even more (at least that is what how i understood it)

Cut em some slack, they only started consuming media that's not harry potter or the office like last week.

All they had to do was watch a single Star Trek episode from any season. Plenty of Sci-Fi novels, personally I loved The Reality Dysfunction by
@PeterFHamilton1. Not to mention an entire Wiki page that could have helped them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_ideas_in_science_fiction …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Hasn't SciFi always had political tones? Like.. go back to Robert A. Heinlein or other old SciFi authors haha. Silly meida outlets xD

"Half-century" has so much more bang to the stupidity of it. I'm sure we could push it farther with some Jules Vern.

Scifi has *always* been political commentary. Tackling environmental and social issues is basically what it's all about. The problem is people are just hyper aware of anything that smells of "a stance" and expect media to exist in a bubble.
