Art is inherently political. Games are art. Nothing exists in a vacuum. Every game either embraces or refutes a certain ideology. Even Pac-Man. What those politics are might be up for debate, but they *are* political objects.

Yeah it's not a game concerning civil warfare within the capital, federal sleeper agents being given a license to kill without discretion, a president possibly using a PMC in a bid to take over DC. Definitely none of those things.

Nier: Automata is a game where a lady robot dressed like an anime maid kills one million robots. It isn't a political game, it's an anime weeaboo power fantasy. I think the politicizing of the game is a massive reach.

Nier:Automata isnt really all that political either. At least it's philosophy is much more prominent to the point that politics get drowned out. Also, looter-shooter mmolite vs storydriven singleplay action rpg. Vastly different genres, vastly different purposes.
