Totally an example of the differing goals of gamers and CEOs, but I don’t think the current discussion has been that useful or informative.

I don’t think this sentiment is because of his ability to get “results,” it’s because he’s the embodiment of an industry that treats workers as disposable and customers as rubes

I think
@JimSterling 's video is less a genuine case for firing anyone and more making a rhetorical point about the contradictions of measuring success completely separate from human cost. -
... and using the language of corporate business as a framework for doing so.

The point of calling for Bobby Kotic to lose his job is precisely because AB has no imperative to act morally now. A mob demanding executive accountability for the firings is not a practical tool, but short of new regulation or the arrival of collective bargainingits a start.

Seems like npc social outrage to me.. Everyone hates the capitalism that brings them all the things they love... Are layoffs good? no they suck.. would the people calling for the head of the CEO if it was layoffs at Snickers or Walmart? Doubtful.

That's kind of the point, isn't it? Bobby Kotick didn't make the video games. Everyone in the company is responsible for those strong results. And yet those people got fired.
