Taking a step back, the introduction of the new xp potion (heavily advertised everywhere in the game) was a warning of the financial situation. They needed to make money, skins are not enough apparently. :/

Before that update, the xp boost was only seen in the menu. Since then it's in the menu, in a game, after a game, etc...

Blizzard could have done a lot more to get players of their other games into HOTS. I can't even remember when the last cross game promotion was. :-\

The I don't think I'm too going to bother with Blizzcon anymore. Really happy I didn't buy the virtual ticket this year. Such a shame to see this once great PC gaming company slowly becoming more and more like all other corporations.

Blizzard quality, historically speaking, meant that they didn't ship a game that they didn't have confidence in. Since then, they had to rebuild D3 after launch, they launched HotS and then backed away from the esports aspect, and BfA has had a really rough launch as well.

Until HotS, you never had to worry about Blizzard dropping support on one of their franchises. Now you know that it's always possible.
