Yeah, I totally get how short form, it'd come off like that. The core point is that content that lives in a system has restrictions based off that system in terms of duration, reward & gameplay style. I content that this, if pushed too far, leads to middling content.https://twitter.com/jasonhooten/status/1041323222493536256 …

Would have been great if they took those systems (like WQ) and expanded them, instead of copy/pasting them into a new expansion. Like if WQs and island expeditions were somehow mixed with each other.

No, I'm talking about the 60s to 60s gameplay loop of World of Warcraft, and the content that it involves. We're too focused on surface level things like that & not on questioning the fundamentals

I think it is silly to expect them to not repeat and evolve current systems. A lot of the repeated systems simply did not exist in previous iterations, so I am certainly not unhappy there is now more to do.
-
We expect them to use old systems that worked, but we also expect the "expansion" moniker to mark an expanded or reoriented implementation.

Something hollow in BFA is how emissary now lacks (1) legendary chance (2) chance at random goodies via box. I am actually shocked at how much I dislike not having the box. Is there something wrong with me...? Azerite not able to warforge means I simply skip a lot of those quests

So add new systems, mix systems with each other, change systems so they allow new forms of content?
