People saw the three drops on beta. Then in a Q&A "We are planning on being significantly more generous regular items when it comes to these..." If the intent did change, you don't communicate it. The problem isn't the change, it's the lack of communication.https://twitter.com/WarcraftDevs/status/1039562245552857088 …

In the case of the chest, if people believe getting 3 items has a low percentage, and the fix was close to the prepatch when most players are distracted with live, they could believe they're falling into the 70% of players that normally sees 1 item.

The Wowhead post was published June 29th, so if they did change it in June, they only have June 30th which is 2 weeks before prepatch.

It's hard to take someone's pulse when they are swinging their fists wildly at you every time you get close. I'm not defending Blizzard's communication overall, I am though unable to get upset by this. And I'm trying, honestly. I'm stabbing a fork into my arm but it's not working

Uh. If you are trying to be upset then I think you are doing it wrong - I don’t think action should ever be inspired by that? At the very least, that’s fundamentally misunderstanding how I engage with this stuff.

If people were used to more drops on live and then they made the change without communication I think this would be fair criticism, but they hammer that phrase "things in beta are subject to change" for this very reason IMO.
