Man some people are really pessimistic about BfA launch. Kind of disappointing to see, personally. I think it's been pretty fucking great so far lmao. Am I alone in thinking that?

I think it's more interesting than ever for those of us who are into the lore and the world, but that it has a mix of flawed systems combined with underwhelming ones that make playing BfA feel very similar to playing Legion, but just less exciting.

I’d agree but with two caveats: 1. Legion is freaking hard to follow as it was a great expansion. Maybe their best ever. 2. I actually think the zones in BfA have a better layout and look. I think Azeroth Gear is the big detractor here.

My TLDR: BfA either feels like Legion V0.5 (IE a prototype, a smaller version) or Legion V1.5 (a progression, but not large enough to feel new). All modulated by how Blizzard play to their weaknesses rather than their strengths when it comes to multiplicative design.

IE: Warfronts and Island Expeditions are bolt ons to a core experience that has either gotten worse or not advanced enough to feel new. They don't really have a reason to exist (RE gameplay).

I felt that the purpose of Island Expeditions was made clear, but alas, that doesn't necessarily make it FUN. I have done few enough that I still enjoy them on Mythic/PvP difficulties, but after a while... I could understand the issue. Warfronts are... interesting...

Their purpose, in terms of systems design, is to play into the infinite endgame progression of Legion. That means that they are incredibly bounded and small in their scope, even though they undoubtedly took a lot of development time to produce.
