If I were to give advice... Delegate if you can. Think about workflow. Thank about process. Working double the hours of a 9-5 will probably net 1.5x results. That's fuck all. Delegating and using other smart force multipliers on your work is the key. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/sep/08/youtube-stars-burnout-fun-bleak-stressed …

Essentially, many YouTubers work dumb but work hard. They grind themselves into a fine paste. That's the burnout. My litmus test for if I'm fucking this stuff up: has my job significantly impacted my sleep schedule and diet. The second that happens alarm bells should be ringing.

This is also why I'm very hesitant on doing Twitch. With it, my time is the absolute bottleneck. There are no real force multipliers, no ways to smartly leverage my time. So it seems like a bit of a dead end if work life balance / time for side projects is the goal.

just to pipe in here, there are definitely ways to smartly leverage your time when it comes to streaming on twitch, most streamers are just really bad about it (because most streamers don't really even think about it)

To be honest, Twitch is extremely unforgiving when you compare Twitch vs Youtube. There might be ways you can optimize work flow but on Twitch the more you are on, the more you grow and vice versa.

that's actually not expressly true - there are heavy diminishing returns when it comes to streaming for large amounts of time. being smart about when you stream >>>>> streaming all the time

Choosing stream times is absolutely important, 100% agree on that. I guess it's a matter of how "big" you want your business to grow. If your "competition" puts in 10-12hrs a day and you only put 5-6 you will eventually fall behind.

That's fucking terrifying to me. I've done well out of delegating editing & footage, and then spending my time focusing on creative - so picking the right battles (ie video topics, titles, thumbnails, content). Personality prob plays in... at the far end of the introvert scale
