I think this could lead to an interesting story because we're really overlooking how similar Jaina and Sylvanas are. I think both are characters who will go to the extreme to defend their people, justifying it by saying ends justify the means.

Sylv doing what ever it takes is not out of character, not sure where people get that from.Sylv doing dumb things like walking away from the kill of malfurion and burning the tree rather then keeping the hostages, that's where the questions are raised.Plot ofc, but plot can be bett

Sylvanas ordered her top general - one of only 2 people she trusted with the real Dark shore invasion plan - to kill a prone Malfurion. I don't think that's unreasonable or stupid personally.

I think it is when you know someone like Saurfang is all about that honor and killing Malfurion was apperantly such a key to your plans, you had to burn down a tree and turn everyone against you to fix it.

Either interpretation could have been clearly sold if the in game storytelling was better. It seems like there is a broader execution issue at play through all of this.

Everyone keeps saying this so why do I find it so easy to understand what's happening all the time? I almost feel bad for not being as confused as everyone else seems to be :(((

I don’t think many people are confused, I think they think Blizzard have done a poor job at telling their story, with that being their main point of criticism.

As i've always said. If you need to read or watch something else to really understand what you are watching/reading, it's a bad job of storytelling by the author.

Unless those things are designed to compliment each other from the start?

complimenting is one thing. but leaving out major pieces of context/motivation is not a good idea. at this point i think this warbringers video was the wrong way to tell this story "in game." they need to tell the story thinking no one will see the other content.

I’d also be critical of Warbingers being an art style chance. I of course love the art style, but once more, it’s an immersion break when compared to the Broken Shire style ones. It shouldn’t feel like the game is playing an mp4 for you.

I agree, I think making the Sylvanas Warbringer an in-game cinematic was far and away it's biggest goof.

I actually think that format let them show Sylvanas' emotions the best. It felt a bit weird but I think the end result was the best we could've gotten.
