Sylv doing what ever it takes is not out of character, not sure where people get that from.Sylv doing dumb things like walking away from the kill of malfurion and burning the tree rather then keeping the hostages, that's where the questions are raised.Plot ofc, but plot can be bett

Sylvanas ordered her top general - one of only 2 people she trusted with the real Dark shore invasion plan - to kill a prone Malfurion. I don't think that's unreasonable or stupid personally.

I think it is when you know someone like Saurfang is all about that honor and killing Malfurion was apperantly such a key to your plans, you had to burn down a tree and turn everyone against you to fix it.

Either interpretation could have been clearly sold if the in game storytelling was better. It seems like there is a broader execution issue at play through all of this.

Everyone keeps saying this so why do I find it so easy to understand what's happening all the time? I almost feel bad for not being as confused as everyone else seems to be :(((

I don’t think many people are confused, I think they think Blizzard have done a poor job at telling their story, with that being their main point of criticism.

As i've always said. If you need to read or watch something else to really understand what you are watching/reading, it's a bad job of storytelling by the author.

Unless those things are designed to compliment each other from the start?

For supporting background stuff, sure. But the core storyline should involve as few immersion breaks as possible. Veering towards reductio ad absurdum, but imagine if you had to pause God of War after the hluse encounter and read a novella.

Blizzard have been notoriously bad about this. I think without the outside information i'd be able to figure out whats going on in this storyline. But honestly, without nobbel, i'd have no idea how we got from MoP to WoD. Bizzard leaves out a lot of things
