Hmmmm... Unions have good and bad elements - I don't know enough about this one. Some of their tweets seem counter productive - doesn't really give a great first impression.

Yeah upon further reading this comes off like a political action group, it seems to be that it'd only be a union for people who have the 'right' opinions. It reads like a personal accounts. Seems like it'd be ineffectual and counter-productive.

This is my first dig into unions. They seem to be coming back into vogue with the prospect of our European Work Directives coming under threat. The nature of Unions, surely, is a collective of personal accounts. Better to help steer it than steer clear?

Well, from a glance at their accounts, they seem overtly political, non-professional and emotionally reactive. None of these things make me think that this group is the right one for the job.

Fair, I was curious what your take would be, I'll take it on board. On a tangent, do you think that NI could become a hot-spot for game dev if Brexit results in NI having exclusive free worker movement with RoI and the EU?

I believe so, if we do it right. Execution will be tricky of course, but there's some good momentum here. It'll be a few years ofc. Not sure how brexit will impact things though you're right - it could put NI in an advantageous position.

A union leader in NI could end up having immense political sway if they come to represent the call for parity between EU and further declining UK worker's rights... And you're a pretty good system designer... Just sayin' ;)

As for NI, well we just aren't far along enough for a union to make sense. Word of mouth pretty much does that job as we're mostly a collection of small indies. If someone is shit to an employee, we'll all know.
