I'm super excited to share my review of a new book by . Having more multicultural representation is not the same as having better, more inclusive representation. Hearts on Hold is def the latter, a complex interracial romance with authenticity, insight and humor.

Really, it isn’t that complicated. “Whatever the final tally, we proved this improbable movement is a lasting reality.” “From what we’re seeing internally, the world is going to be shocked.” Statement 1 feeds your supporters. Statement 2 feeds the ongoing media narrative.

An AL woman shot a man who’d just raped her. She shot him as he choked her brother, who’d just arrived to help. 48 hrs later, she was charged with murder. Today, she lost her Stand Your Ground Hearing. In Al, women rarely win.

Stuart Hall (3 Feb 1932 – 10 Feb 2014), trailblazing Jamaican intellectual, born 88 years ago today, in Kingston. Regarded as the ‘Godfather of Multiculturalism’; his ideas resonate in universities throughout the Western world, yet he is hardly known in his own homeland.

I always see people tweet as if History writes itself "History will remember" or there are no historians writing now "Future historians will" or that historians are a monolith and all white. How about we read more Black historians this BHM and do better? Here's a list
