Is there anyone else out there who listens to a lot of TRS podcasts, but not TDS itself?

I think the day is fast approaching, at least here in the states. It’s quite clear that the two sides cannot get along. We have too many fundamental differences. Some form of revolution and resettlement is inevitable.
-
Agree. There's no consensus any more about anything that matters. It's no longer two groups of people fighting over two different ways to accomplish similar outcomes. It's two groups of people who are disgusted by each other's virtues and values.

Let's be real here: You could avoid any sort of armed conflict if you agreed to resettle people based on their emotional reaction to this image.pic.twitter.com/voCLP9jTVl

Perhaps, but I’m of the opinion that maintaining the geographic integrity of the US is of the utmost importance to a nationalist regime of any stripe. The nationalist side of the split will be too vulnerable otherwise.

I'm admittedly of the opinion that city states and Empires are the only natural and enduring forms of government. Don't really believe in nations or republics.
-
Nation states exist in wider civilizations like Europe. The United States is an empire. Our strategic depth gives us the ability to fend off literally the rest of the world allied against us in a war.
-
I'd respect America a lot more if it were more honest about being an empire. While I get George Washington could never have been king, accepting the title of emperor in a more HRE style setup would have been better than a republic.
-
The early republic was setup as a confederation between a northern banking oligarchy and a southern agrarian aristocracy. We never formalized the aristocratic element, so we eventually got the disaster of democracy.
