I'm curious how it is, that people who believe in nominalism manage to program computers. I ask this because platonic universals are absolutely critical to my own understanding of computer programming to an extent I can't fathom how one could understand it without them.

The same forms recur across all languages.The big issue is translating it between the different language implementations. Tail recursion in SWI-Prolog, for example, compiles to what is effectively a basic C for loop.
