    Support for police is not hindered by a language barrier. Upon seeing me at a call for assistance, a little Greek grandma with zero English beamed, threw her arms in air, reached up to cradle my face in her hands and then gave me a hug. ☺️

    It's a sad day for the VPD as we say goodbye to our dear friend, Civilian Manager and retired Staff Sergeant Ross Jackson. Hearts and thoughts are with the family.

    Elderly man reported his wife missing as she left home without her cane. But she wasn’t missing - she had been spry enough to walk to church. So he got a ride to the service in a police car so he could deliver her her cane for their walk home.

    Arrested a guy tonight. He said the only illegal thing happening was that a police woman (me) was allowed to work by herself (I was solo). I pointed out that I had had no problem putting him in cuffs. He made no further comment.
