A strong democracy, at ease with itself, welcomes constructive scrutiny. That’s why as a country we should be able to welcome the arrival of three experts over the next few weeks, each invited by the government.

Sixty years ago today, courage was personified by the 4 students who sat down at the Woolworth’s lunch counter in Greensboro, NC refusing to accept hate and discrimination as the norm. Today we honor them and hope to emulate even an iota of that same courage.

A glimmer of hope for refugee children: has approved a “pilot” education program for 10.000 kids. However, with nearly 400,000 Rohingya children in Bangladesh’s refugee camps, there's still a long way to go.

Good news, with limitations, as detailed by my colleague : - It’s a step in the right direction, but... - The pilot will only reach 1 in every 40 Rohingya children by the end of 2020. - No Rohingya child in Bangladesh can access any accredited education
