Looks like she’s going Advaita Vedanta...de se knowledge isn’t so weird, and if you see yourself as identical with the whole world, the weirdness problem goes away. 🤔

The emerging view inthis talk feels almost Leibnizian to me...I was expecting Spinoza 🤪

My worry: she’s smuggling in everything of normative import without an argument. If we’re aware of others qua pure awarenesses, there’s no moral content; if we’re aware of others qua distorted minds, we’ll be motivated to do whatever nasty things they happen to want...

Second talk: Muhammad Faruque on Muhammad Iqbal and his Indian contemporary; the talk will focus on the paradox of self-knowledge (how can the self be both the subject who knows and the object of knowledge?)

Third talk: @evantthompson on affect biased attention and nonconceptual awareness; I’m pretty sure I already agree, and have written a similar thing on Dharmakīrti! But we’ll see how it unfolds

Evan is focusing on the experience of pain, meditation, and the attentional shifts in the way that sensory, conceptual, and affective information is processed

I’m even more certain now that the SOAP model from Truong and @BecketTodd needs to play a critical role in a story of how apoha works! More to come in my book!
