I really think I would benefit from CMHT input but I am worried they won't accept me. It's tough as being a I am well aware of how stretched mental health teams are.

I must have missed the part about there being no people or words! 🤦‍♀️ Oops! 😬 Bit late now! 🤷‍♀️ Tbh tho my life is about the people that are in it, nothing else truly matters!

It doesn't sit right with me when people use words that we associate with criminal activity when talking about mental health, like threatened, attempted or committed. I know that context is everything but it's jarring to hear them used to refer to someone's emotional distress.

STOP TELLING MEN TO MAN UP! 84 men a week in the UK die by suicide that’s 12 per day, 1 man every 2 hours. It’s ok to talk about your mental health, it doesn’t make you any less of a man

Never ever tell anybody expriencing mental health problems that there are people worse off than them. It's hugely invalidating and only goes to increase those feelings of worthlessness, guilt and shame that people often experience.

One of the bizarre things I've learned about psychiatry is that an assessment is often limited to how you present to them in that moment. That's going round for a coffee in someone's kitchen, then later telling all your friends it was a weird house because it only had one room.

Watching losing it: Our mental health emergency last night got me thinking how much extra pressure is placed by society on children nowadays. A lot more than when I was a child (I'm 27)! It was also very alarming to hear the girl say that self harm is becoming a trend! 😭
