Right now, & the RV Falkor is exploring the Bremer Sub-Basin- my main field site where I have researched killer whales for the past 8 years. It's exciting to see what is below all that water I have studied for so long!

When Queensland flooded, Rudd waded through knee deep water to help. When NSW burned, Abbott went to fight the fires himself. Morrison? He just ran away to Hawaii. This is not partisan. Morrison is just a woeful leader.

The value of Orca photo ID. Here is bull #34 from the North Isles Community 27s pod alongside us in Mousa Sound, in August 2008 and again in September 2019. Some of the same scars can still be seen 11 years later and note how the dorsal fin has 'sprouted' to adult size.

Humans rarely visit Antarctica, but did you know that we rely on it? Its ecosystems and the species that call it home help mitigate climate change. Marine reserves in the region are vital to ensure this continues:

The first day _in recorded history_ the entire continent of Australia had no rain. Not. One. Drop. And we have no meaningful climate or energy policy to tackle this.

How do you find a killer whale's dialect? All you need are some killer whales, a hydrophone and acoustic software. 's research has suggested that the killer whales at Australia's southwest have an Aussie accent.

If any animals are capable of taking down the largest whales in the ocean, it's orcas. This photo was snapped by a team from Project Orca and shows the moment a pygmy blue whale came under siege from a pod of hungry orcas.
