I currently have 15,188 minutes of watch time. ~253 hours. I just got an email notifying me that I was terminated from the @TeamYouTube Partner Program. In order to be REEVALUATED, not reinstated, I need 240,000 watch minutes. 4,000 HOURS. Goodbye, livelihood. It's been awful. 
How much money where you making out of these 15K minutes watched? I dont think that you can have a livelyhood out of youtube with less than a milion views per month. If you need 5$ to live then yes, goodbye livelyhood i guess.
