I say NAY!! Once you complete your challenge to get the gun the jump scare feature should be off. I play with headphones and it's not what's on screen that scares me it's that its very Extremely Loud within my headset and I have it on high to hear other players footsteps.

Same for me. It’s difficult to hear footsteps when you have a bunch of ghosts whispering in your ear.
