"Those who can't love their country without shouting slogans, without addressing her as mother, without imagining her as goddess, are not actually devoted to the country. Their attraction is towards the intoxication of nationalism, not the nation herself." ~Rabindranath Tagore

The more I read news from India, the more I am convinced that it has the beginnings of ethnic cleansing, which unchecked, will lead to genocide.

As a Hindu, Christmas is not part of our religion, but, growing up in a secular home, and community, we celebrated it, often throwing parties with a selection of decadent cakes. It was joyous. We joined our Muslim friends for Id, devouring Biryanis. What’s changed in India?

Shri you ask Indians to be disciplined to curb the surging coronavirus. Why have you been indisciplined to hold mass political rallies, permitted millions of pilgrims at the Kumbh Mela to risk their lives? A good leader leads by example. Are you a good leader?

India is receiving aid from #Uzbekistan. What a slap in the face for bigot Modi! Babur born Zahīr ud-Dīn Muhammad, founded the Mughal Empire, first Emperor of the Mughal dynasty (r. 1526–1530) in India, was born in Andijan in the Fergana Valley (in present-day #Uzbekistan)

Many heads of state dress up occasionally, for photo ops, but no one, not even Trump or Bolsonaro, have made a bigger fool of themselves, than this man.

Free speech is a very important component of democracy, violent killing is unacceptable in a civilised world. Is the support of India’s Hindu nationalists for Macron for their love for free speech or mutual hatred against Islam? On point ⁦

The current crop of Indian Army Generals are so highly politicized that, they tiptoe around the political leadership. This, is the result of having a leader who has pompous illusions about himself! Army Generals must be soldiers, not political lackeys.

The Sikhs are a martial race, one of the finest soldiers in the world. These photographs are of those who were drafted by the British to fight in the First World War. Sikhs are also the first ones to set up kitchens in disaster zones, anywhere in the world. #Sikhs

India had a worldwide reputation as Secular Democratic Republic. In recent years that sterling reputation is showing signs of willful conversation to a fascist and extremist country by the government in power. The exclusion of a Muslim festival in speeches by the PM is testimony.

I served as an adjudicator in a Canadian Tribunal adjudicating Landlord and Tenant disputes. There are bad tenants and landlords, but South Asians are among the worst, treating their own like outcasts, taking advantage of new immigrants; bad practices follow our community abroad.

A couple in Uttar Pradesh, India reportedly cancelled their wedding just because they differed on their outlook towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While one member held the PM responsible for India's economic slowdown, the other disagreed.

More than 100,000 Chinese millionaires have moved to Metro Vancouver in recent years. Most of them obtained Canadian citizenship through the scandal-rocked and now shuttered Immigrant Investor Program. It should be without controversy to say that these things are “linked.”

I continue to be amazed by the continued gaslighting by the current Indian Government, with the leader as the loudest mouthpiece. Who are they trying to fool, the poor rural folk who are easy to hoodwink in return for promises which are seldom, if ever, fulfilled? Five planes!

Cook it like paneer! I sauté onions, garlic, followed by tomato, add coriander, Kashmiri chilli, turmeric and a store bought Shahi Paneer Masala, add water, bring to boil, add green peas, and tofu cut in cubes. Let simmer for about 15 minutes, add a little half and half! Done!

This is proof that Current Serving Senior Indian officers, are either ill informed on intelligence reports on China, or are too “politically correct” to appease politicians in power making limpid statements! How can an Army be effective when real leadership is lacking?

This interview of by is a must watch. Press freedom, freedom of speech are going down, while brazenly targeting minorities (Muslims) is on the rise, and is condoned by the government.
