If I read Option nationale's platform right, it would be illegal for The Gazette to require fluency in English from its employees. #qc2012
@fagstein that's ridiculous. PQ has the same thing in its platform and so does CAQ. They're not going to abolish the Gazette.

@BastienLaurent I see this in neither the PQ's platform http://bit.ly/NkN3Zd nor the CAQ's http://bit.ly/NkN5Ah - do you have a source? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@BastienLaurent And how am I misreading ON's platform? Or was it not written properly? -
@fagstein They're all essentially saying that Bill 101 should be applied. "La Charte" = Bill 101. News media aren't affected by 101. -
@BastienLaurent Not now. But Option nationale wants to extend its reach. And it's not clear what (if any) protections anglos would have -
@fagstein@BastienLaurent if news medias weren't affected by Bill 101 before, they won't be affected by what ON is proposing. (2/2) -
@luclefebvre That's not stated in the platform, at least not clearly. Nor is there any apparent protection for anglo culture. -
@fagstein Again, Bill 101 is not about protecting the anglo culture, or attacking it, it is about protecting the french one. -
@luclefebvre So Option nationale has no interest in protecting anglo culture in Quebec? -
@fagstein 2) Making sure we're not repeating the same behaviors that the french suffered as a minority in Canada, to the anglos in Qc. - 2 more replies
