It took years (much like this current project feels) to get the right book written. I'm grateful for @azemezi who saw a book way before I did and helped encourage and shape and edit and construct when I could barely get through the writing. Without them, this book would not exist

I wrote the book that I needed all those years ago. I wrote the book I wish I could have found in that Barnes & Noble all those years ago. All I needed to know was that I wasn't alone and I hope that my book helped you feel a bit clearer, more connected, and more understood
More than anything, I hope that it helps you understand the people in your life, and around you, who didn't seem to make much sense before. I hope, as I've said, it opens up the chambers of empathy that are not predicated on how much you like, or pity, the person.
I've had a lot of disappointments, not going to lie, but the magnitude of the love and support and encouragement eclipses all of that. I can not tell you how grateful I am for every single person who has shared their stories with me OR have been encouraged to tell their own.
