But it just makes Trump seem fearful, I'm not sure I understand why people would think otherwise...

McCabe isn't a good guy. He lied about Flynn, leaked many stories to the press, etc. Draining the swamp was one of Trump's biggest campaign promises, and firing McCabe is a step in the right direction.
-
McCabe's qualities are sort of irrelevant I think. In all of Trump's actions he seems more like he's trying desperately to protect himself than anything else. I suppose we'll be able to tell if life expectancy in the US starts to climb again or something?
-
My point being to look for an indicator of success that isn't basically Trump saying he did well.
-
If you cut out all the petty stuff (tweets, firings, White House drama etc), you'll see Trump's accomplishments are pretty normal as far as presidencies go. Tax cuts, Isis getting destroyed, jobs etc
-
If Trump persuades North Korea to get rid of their nukes though, that would be revolutionary. I betTrump would get the Nobel Peace prize.
-
Among the items you list, only the Tax Cut could perhaps be totally down to Trump, and was much more to the benefit of a tiny minority... ie more Swamp. As for NK anything that helps is great, but it doesn't seem a considered move... and is what NK have been requesting for ages.
