    It fills me with great joy when British Muslims send me story tips/ideas, not because it gives me something to write about but because it shows how many outstanding potential journalists we have out there. In an industry where there are only 0.4% of us, please become journalists!

    This is what happens when our media is not representative of society. In an industry that is 94% white, where only 0.2% of journalists are black and 0.4% Muslim, hiring journalists that look like modern Britain would stop absurdities like this being published.

    So have just done a story on the BBC blunder where they've mistaken for and they've just used a picture of . For the love of God! It's not that difficult!

    Peaceful protesters in are subjected to a dangerous rhetoric of demonization & dehumanization, especially by leaders in powerful positions. Peacefully protesting against government isn't a crime. Not agreeing with policies of a government doesn't make you a traitor either.

    This is India right now. The world’s largest democracy is under sustained attack by a fascist ideology, where students are attacked, free speech curtailed and millions stripped of citizenship. Journalists in the West should stop turning a blind eye, distance is no excuse.

    Yep. And it will never cease to amaze me how in a diverse city like London, there are still all white news desks.

    Joaquin Phoenix's speech is great but please remember: The media and arts worlds (like most professional worlds) are very good at applauding anti-racist speeches... but even better at politely upholding racist structures.
