Quick question I sort of know the answer to... The judge appears to be using his discretion without fairly stringent sentencing guidelines... and his judgements seem fair in each. Which august body created these sentencing guidelines again...?

Probably worth mentioning to readers NOT to try and find the documents that are mentioned in the judges remarks. Possession alone (either physical or held on electronic media) could lead to a criminal conviction under terrorism legislation

I'm no expert of course, but seems to me the judge did pretty much all he can within the confines of what he allowed to do?

Thanks for sharing. I don't understand why he was let out early, the court clearly recognised he considers himself a member of IS and loves their sick ideology. On one hand the danger is recognised while on the other hand it's being ignored. Is auto early release the default?

It's not early release. He was released on licence at the point in his sentence defined by sentencing legislation.

Excellent that you tweeted this. I knew you would on this. But unfortunately, the usual media types still don't get it, using the released 'early' mantra
