Since I was mobbed out of my social justice community, I've found that conservatives are more kind, forgiving, and open-minded people than my old crew. I've found friendship and acceptance despite disagreement. I can't get in trouble anymore for saying so—so I'm saying so.

The fact that I was welcomed in as a colleague and friend by conservatives when my fellow liberals were too frightened to remain my friend is something I will never forget.
I think it’s because the baseline of normal friendly decency is changed by ideological commitment. It’s an aspect of all cult, or cult-like, groups were conformity is valued above all else. Right now conservatives are just at the normal baseline while SJ is cultist.
All my friends (in the real world) are varying degrees of left. A few are cool with me speaking out against the woke cult but I cannot go on FB anymore where all my friends are and I am somewhat anonymous here which is a shame. 1/2
Unfortunately my husband's work 'music' ties him into a large social group that I no longer feel free to be myself in and although he doesn't give a shit about politics and largely agrees with me, I can't jeopardise his work by speaking out on anything political or cultural.2/3
