When it first aired in 1968, 60 Minutes was originally titled 54 Minutes and Mostly Laxative Commercials. It featured profiles of presidential contenders Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey, a discussion on the nature of reality, and Mike Wallace singing Jumping Jack Flash.

I believe he varied week to week. The show's second episode had him covering O.C. Smith's Little Green Apples.

That's the funniest bit of alt-history that I've read in a while. Well, other than the stuff that the "Roman Republic/Empire is a fiction" girl wrote--that was funny for a different reason though.

😂 I must’ve watched it; it was on in our house every week — you’d think THIS would memorable — but I can’t recall a bit of it.
54 Minutes?? 🥴 I don’t remember that title.
I’m giggling just trying to imagine Mike Wallace singing ANYTHING on TV, let alone Jumping Jack Flash.😆🤣
