In George Lucas's first draft of the script for Star Wars IV: A New Hope, the Luke Skywalker character was originally named Monticello von Hapsburg after a neighbor's dachshund, but the name was changed following a property dispute.

Strangely also in the first draft it wasn't called 'A New Hope'. It wasn't called that until 1981.
