Makuragaeshi are Japanese child ghosts that haunt rooms at night, flipping pillows and, occasionally, people. Their more malevolent versions sit on their victim's chest while they sleep, squeezing the air from their lungs.

Japanese culture and folklore have the bestest ghosts, daemons, and yōkai (妖怪), some of them absolutely scary if not full-on frightening.

As a parent I can say with absolute certainty that that describes a regular child at a certain age whenever a parent tries to sleep.
