No. That was the plan. It only became a series finale after the fact.

To see the return of Michael would have been awesome. He was hella protagonist. And was a mistake that wouldn't never let the Atlantis team forget.

Wait..WHAT!! Michael survived the fall? when i saw the season6 list I hoped we would see Michael again..or would have seen..Sick! In true Michael style, presumably, he would have spread this retro-virus on many worlds. Possibly with the ATA gene..damn that would of been good.
