FYI Your tweet prompted me to break out the iron pot to see if my beans are shinier when cooked in it. I grew up eating Cuban black beans and they are one of my favorite food items. Tonight it'll be a Mexican version for my wife. Happy New Year and may your beans be ever shiny.
